A Spiritual Mission Across Bhutan

Samtrul Rinpoche’s spiritual mission reached far beyond his initial refuge, touching the lives of
communities across Bhutan. Responding to a request from the followers of the late ThutobChogyel
Yoedzer Rinpoche, Rinpoche traveled to Eastern Bhutan, where his teachings, rituals,
and blessings left a profound impact.
In the village of Shrimuhung, Rinpoche constructed a Lhakhang (temple) and a chorten (stupa),
creating sacred spaces for the community to engage in prayers, rituals, and offerings. These
structures became vital spiritual centers, fostering devotion and continuity of Buddhist practices.
Rinpoche’s influence extended beyond religious teachings. Through his efforts, he nurtured the
Nyingma tradition and worked to subjugate local deities, harmonizing the spiritual and natural
realms. This brought peace, prosperity, and a deep sense of spiritual fulfillment to the people of
Shrimuhung, further solidifying his legacy as a guiding light in Bhutan’s spiritual history.
